FAQs

Are parents required to remain with their under-aged children?

Yes, for the safety of the child and other guests, all under-aged children must be with an adult or parent.  Sorry, no exceptions.

Are there Additional Fees We Must Pay for Public Events?

Walk Ins

While we love serving our guests and never want to limit or hinder them, we do have to consider the order of our events and the guests that arrive on time and are ready to paint.

Because it can be a disruption, guests who WALK IN and have not booked will be required to pay an additional $10 charge plus the session price. This is a convenience fee.

Extended Time

Events are generally 2-hour events.  Any Guest who wants to take their time may do so but will be required to pay $6 more at the session end time before continuing and then every 15 min thereafter, Studio Permitting.

Late Arrivals

Arrivals beyond 50 minutes will forfeit their registration, and there will be no option to reschedule or refund. Late arrivals that do not exceed 50 minutes may still paint, but they are expected to catch up with the rest of the group. The artist will no longer rehearse the same instructions for each person who arrives late. If you do not complete your painting by the end of the session, the EXTENDED TIME rule will apply if time permits.

    • IF YOU WANT TO PAINT REGARDLESS OF HOW LATE YOU HAVE ARRIVED, YOU MAY DO SO.  HOWEVER, WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO STOP THE FLOW OF THE SESSION TO CATCH YOU UP OR ASSIST.  PLEASE BE ADVISED YOU WILL BE FREE TO COMPLETE YOUR PAINTING HOWEVER YOU WOULD LIKE.  YOU MAY STAY LONGER IF TIME PERMITS AND AT THE RATE LISTED ABOVE.
Can I Celebrate a Birthday at a Public Class?

We want our guests to enjoy themselves, celebrate, and have a great time.  Therefore we do require private parties be booked for birthday celebrations.  However, if you choose not to do so, no problem.

You may still join our public session, however Cakes and Buffet Spreads used to celebrate birthday guests are NOT PERMITTED for public events.  If this guideline is disregarded, you may be required to pay a $15 additional charge before being allowed to set up and paint.

Do I have to register?

We highly recommend registering as many classes fill up and seats are reserved for those who have registered.   Additionally, we cancel classes with less than four registrants, so please make sure to register as you never know when you might be the fourth person.

How do I register?

It’s easy to register for our fun classes!  Simply visit our website and click Calendar.  Choose your location and then hover over the picture of the class you want to attend, and then click on the “Register Now” button. We do charge your card if you no-show or cancel (cancellations would receive a studio credit per our policy).

How far in advance should I register?

Any time before the class is full.  We accept registrations up until all seats for that class are filled.

Is there plentiful parking at the studio?

Yes, and all parking is FREE! There is parking directly in front of the studio and directly across the street in the CITY OF LAWRENCEVILLE PUBLIC PARKING 4-story parking deck. Lastly, there is a second parking deck on Luckie Street (However, this is not convenient).

What do I bring with me?

Other than your sense of fun, you don’t have to bring a thing…we’ve got everything you need to create your masterpiece! However, you are welcome and encouraged to bring drinks and snacks to enjoy while painting.  Yep, that includes adult beverages, too!  Having a party?  Great!  Feel free to bring pizza, cakes, cupcakes, appetizers or anything else you can think of for your guests.  Please note that we don’t have a kitchen, so we don’t have ice, refrigerators or microwaves.

What if I am running late?

Our classes start promptly at the scheduled time. Students arriving more than 30 minutes late will not be admitted and funds will be forfeited. Students arriving late will be checked in as soon as the instructor is able to step away and may have to wait.

What if I have never painted before?

No problem!  Our classes are designed for all levels, from those who’ve never held a paint brush to professional artists.  Our fun and helpful instructors walk you step-by-step in creating your masterpiece.

What if we take longer than the allotted time?

This applies to both public and private events.  If you choose to paint longer than the time allotted, or you have not completed your painting due to a late arrival and want to finish,  before continuing, guests must first pay an initial $5 per guest.  Guests will pay $5 every 15 minutes thereafter for their time to stay.  Sorry, no exceptions.  This is based on availability.

What is Provided in the Public Events?

WE PROVIDE:  Live Instruction, Aprons, Large Canvases, all Art supplies, GREAT Music, Cups, Plates, Napkins, Wine/Beer Bottle Openers.

What is the Cancellation/Reschedule policy?

We have a 24 hour cancelation policy.  We know that emergencies, sickness and other events happen, however, the cancellation policy is in place so that we can appropriately plan our classes and space.  There are no exceptions on this policy. If you cancel 24 hours or more ahead of time, you are able to reschedule for another event.  You must reschedule within 90 days of the cancellation.  Same day cancellations and no-shows do not get an opportunity to reschedule.

What is the difference in a Private Party and a Regular Class?

Private Parties are just that..private.  So the studio is yours to use during that time.  Private parties have minimums and also get to choose the painting that they do.  Public classes are open to all, so come by yourself or with a group.  Paintings for public classes are preselected and posted online.

What is the minimum age?

Our evening classes are designed for adults and our kid’s classes are designed for kids. So please keep that in mind when registering.  Friday and Saturday night adult classes are ages 18 and up. All other adult classes are 13 and up. Our policy requires that children/teens must be accompanied by a paying and painting adult for our evening classes.  For kids classes, you are welcome to drop and go. Our classes are not designed for infants and all attendees must be painting.  The only exception to this is adults that wish to stay and watch their children during kids classes are welcome to do so but during evening classes only painters will be allowed to enter.

What should I wear?

Wear paint appropriate clothing.  Our paints are acrylic and can stain. Masterpiece Mixers takes no responsibility for paint stains so please make sure to dress accordingly.

When should I arrive?

Studio doors open 30 minutes prior to class start time and we highly recommend arriving at least 15 minutes early as our check in process takes a few minutes to get everyone signed in, paint distributed, etc.  If forty people arrive at two minutes before class it makes it quite difficult so please try to arrive early.
